 Dear Friends
We have 'agonized' a lot about this decision: should we register TISA or let it be a private association of Indian citizens? Finally, we decided to go ahead. Let me list out some of the reasons which have pushed us in this direction:

Sometime ago, JP gave me a movie to watch: Kungfu Panda, an animation movie. There is a Valley of Peace, protected by the Furious Five – Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Viper, and Crane – a quintet of warriors trained in kung fu by the wise tortoise Master Oogway and his protégé, the red panda Master Shifu. Yes, animals spoke and were venerated as martial art masters, in China those days. Then, there is a secret scroll. Whoever finds the secret, he or she will reign supreme. And the movie is all about the secret hidden in the scroll.

TISA has been registered as a Public Charitable Trust at Vikasnagar (Dehradun) today on 13th November 2009. Nitin Tomer was here in this connection and JP took the advantage of the occasion and interviewed him on wide ranging topics: his vision for TISA, what ails SHGs, what needs to be done, how our personal journeys have brought us to the idea of self help etc. and finally, can stammerers hope to find a mate :-))
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3. |

Here is a very inspiring true story of a man making up his mind to change himself. It has been related by Mr Manimaran very kindly. This discussion started with a question in IPWS yahoo chat group: what kind of things PWS need to do in order to truly change themselves? This story sums up the answer very well.

Here is an article from Professor William Webster at BSA. Essentailly, this write up shows how genetic potential influences the functioning of our brain (interhemispheric interference), which leads to dis-fluency, which generates negative emotions- and how this becomes a learned behaviour over the years. Importantly, he also discusses how we can undo it: how our "thinking" can influence our brain. Very good write up if you want to understand why we stammer. Read |

Here are JP's thoughts on an issue, which we all have thought about but rarely discussed; JP is on a sabbatical with sachin at Samagra, working with children who stammer and working on himself as well: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5
