The Phoenix Birds of Cubbon Park

The sun was bright, sky
was clear and we assembled for yet another day of sharing thoughts and actions
for a better tomorrow.

The team included Dinesh bhai, Anshuman-1 with
long hair, Anshuman-2 with short hair, Sarath, Sidharth, Pramod, Akash, Ruben, Kavish , Praveen and myself Hari Krishna.

As
usual the meeting started with a round of introduction. SHG taught us that the
more you attend the meeting, the more confident we become and will having a
better understanding on how to articulate while giving introduction.

Then
we moved on to sharing round. In contrary to the usual confession round which
help us to unload the burden, this time the coordinator introduced happiness
sharing round. Each member shared a slice of their happiness and the group as a
whole got elated. It feels that certain things that may feel absolute normal to
one person can give fervent happiness to another one. Life…it is little difficult
to comprehend..!!

Then
we moved on to impromptu speech round. The topics varied from speed breakers,
married life, butterflies and so on. Every one made a sincere effort to give a
better speech. This round enables pws to cope up with real life situations.

Then
prepared speech of Kavish and Sidharth followed. Kavish’s spoke on three day
off work week for better work life balance and Siddhath elaborated on time
management. The concept of motivational bundle as a tool for time management
was enlightening. The eminent judging
panel gave constructive feedback. The team congratulated Sid for standing up
for his first encounter at toast master.

Mock
interview session was conducted for one of our member who was preparing for the
jobs interviews. The session helped his arsenal to face interviews with greater
vibe and confidence.

The
time was ticking and we moved on to debate and group discussion. This time the
topic was need for censorship in movies. Both the sides literally fought for
and against showing explicit contents in movies. After long deliberations, consensus
was reached and all agreed that censorship to limit the contents of movies is
inevitable.

Before
winding up the session, discussions were extended on the preparations for
National conference which is scheduled to be held on October 09-11 at New Delhi.

And
we concluded the session by 1pm…

Further
I take this opportunity to extend our deeply felt condolence for demise of the
real Mahatma Dr APJ. He will be remembered forever. Akin to Kalam Sir who ignited
Indian minds and gave wings to Indian dreams, every SHG ignites our mind and
gives wings and fire to rise above the sky like a phoenix bird.

PS:
The idlis and wangi bath bought by Dinesh bhai was awesome. On behalf of SHG i request Dinesh to attend
all the meeting ;-).
