Meeting Jasbirji

Jasbirji is presently in Goa, and I had an opportunity to
meet him today at the lodge where he is staying. The evening spent with
Jasbirji today is a lasting memory I will cherish for my life time. Jasbirji’s
smiling face welcomed me, and within no time, I was very much comfortable
talking to him, even though it was our first meeting. We exchanged a lot of things,
and there were a number of things to learn from him.

I will take back with me a wealth of knowledge. Few things I
would like to share here-

About communication, Jasbirji says- “Your speech is like
your baby. Love it, take care of it, adore it, play with it. It is a great
feeling”. For me, this was a completely new perspective of looking at one’s
speech. He further added that whenever there is an opportunity of communication;
grab it simply because of the joy of exchange of knowledge. When two people
communicate, you give something and you take something. That in itself is a prized
experience. Step into a talking situation because it will benefit others.
Jasbir also talked about the significance of working with
other stammerers. Get in touch of stammerers around you, may be in your SHG,
and work with him, help him get over his fears, his problems. In this process,
you will also work on your problems.

Indeed, it was an evening to remember. I will be meeting
Jasbir ji for the next few days. On Saturday, we have organized a talk open to
public in Panaji City, followed by an outing with him with Goa SHG. Looking
forward and waiting eagerly for all the learning moments to come with Jasbir
ji, and every

body in Goa SHG.

Yes. I agree with Harish. Mr.Jasbir is not only a good communicator but also a very good human being. I request the Goa SHG to make use of his experience to the maximum extent possible.

Had the priviledge of having dinner with Jasbirji. Meeting him is one of the best learning experiences in my life. He is a masterclass on how to live and go beyond our stammering gift.
Out of his pearls of wisdom, my best pick…" Work on somebody else's speech, make it your goal, your passion and in the bargain you will benefit in your own journey"!!

Meeting other PWS, which I always try to do, whenever I visit different places, have always been a unique learning experience for me, from their first hand life lessons. My recent visit to Goa has also not been different. I had a great time with Dr. Farida Dias, Harish ,Rajesh and other PWS , who were nice enough to spare their valuable time despite saturday- sunday.I have come back today morning with lots of sweet memories to cherish. I believe my friends are my assets. It was an opportunity for me to meet my phono- friends.Further I believe, learning is always two ways. It is never one way. I wish to meet them again, whenever the opportunity comes.
Thanks for everything my Goa friends.
    May all beings be happy.
