We welcome Mr Manimaran as the new core team member. He has put the foundations of self-help, as early as 2001 in Chennai, under the statue of Gandhi ji, on Marina beach. His unassuming and simple life has inspired many people. The Self help group meeting organised by him in Chennai since 2008 (and even before) have helped many pws. He has written frequently to spread the idea of one pws helping others unselfishly.
Above all, he has taught, through personal example, that we need not wait for stammering to be cured, before we can start living, being creative & productive- and start enjoying the life. We can achieve so much in life through hard work, commitment, humility and persistence. His achievements in professional life are too many to be recounted here. It is enough to say that the state department that he ably serves as a senior technocrat, has year after year, formally acknowledged his invaluable contributions.
No man is an island. Therefore, we also wish to thank those around him, who must have helped him to reach these heights of personal excellence: Mrs Manimaran! and his family! We express our appreciation and gratitude to her and them. And not to forget, his friends and colleagues in Chennai SHG who have helped him year after year, to reach out to others.
You can read here, his bio and the paper contributed by him to ISAD in 2010.
