TISA Diary:Kolkata Chapter ( 04 th November,2018 )

Date: 04 th November 2018 at Rabindra Sarovar Lake, Southern Avenue (Near Menoka Cinema), Kolkata. Time 11.30 am.

Name of The Participants: Nirmalya, Arun, Soham&Anjan

ArunGorai is a Software engineer and working in TCS and Soham is a B.SC (Physics) 3rd year Student and also he is an actor playing some important role in many short films. Nirmalya is also a B.Comstudent and he attended last meeting and as per his first-day experience on 28/10/18, he wants to join every Sunday SHG meetings. Within 12.00 everybody reached the venue. I have come to know that out of 3 nobodies has ever taken any kind of Speech Therapy. Soham is acting in short films instead of his speech impediment. That is really appreciable.

After the Introduction session, we have discussed lots of personal issues regarding communication and try to find out solutions out of that. We discussed TISA ‘s objectives and various techniques and practicing with those techniques. Soham and Arun are new to the Stranger Talk activity. Initially, they were reluctant to meet new people with the discussion about stammering. However, after meeting 2 families over there they are excited about their own performance and completed the maximum number of Stranger talk within 2 hours. This is unbelievable that we met 15-20 peoples on that day, most of them are appreciating and wants to know about TISA. Somebody has ignored us by showing some excuses, but we have taken everything with a festive mood and enjoyment. We have concluded our session at 2.30 pm and back to our home for lunch and personal activities.

Today’s achievement: During Stranger talk one HDFC bank manager has listened to us and taken our contact details. The very Next day one PWS Mr. Ashis Ghosh from Kolkata, a PWS contact us and wants to Join the TISA Bengal group. He is very much depressed with his stammering and wants to come out from fear.

Everybody is eagerly looking for the next SHG meeting. I am sure existing members will participate and some new members will join our meet. But we need more dynamic PWS’s to lead and make it more interesting and useful and continue our SHG at the height.
