The overseas friend of the modern breeder

Today, getting a monkey, a pygmy kangaroo, a panda, or even a hippo is not so unrealistic. The Internet is a help!
How to purchase?
Today, on the Internet, if desired, you can find a lot of ads for the sale of exotic animals. Such ads are usually served by nurseries. But the best thing is if you manage to contact the breeder – in this case, the guarantee that the pet will be tame, and everything is fine with his health, increases significantly. But, unfortunately, this opportunity is rarely provided, most often overseas animals are sold by dealers. What is not always safe is that the animal may turn out to be sick and aggressive and not amenable to training.
There is another option for acquiring an exotic friend – more reliable, but also more expensive. We are talking about a direct order from a foreign nursery where a potential pet grows.
It is clear that payment will be required not only for the animal itself (about 1,000 euros), but also for its delivery to Russia (about 300 euros). Is it expensive? But you can be 100% sure of the availability of vaccinations, good animal health and related documents.
The easiest way to order is to contact organizations that deliver animals. They often take all the trouble on themselves, but then the costs increase again, and, as a rule, at times.
Of course, before contacting such an organization, information about it must be checked and rechecked more than once. It would be good to study the reviews about the organization, which, in accordance with all the pros and cons indicated in them, should be relied upon.
Nuances of import and export
A parent must know that a CITES certificate is required to import an animal into the country. This point is spelled out in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Wild Flora and Fauna, which includes a list of such animals and plants. In addition, the permission of the relevant authority controlling the kennel in which the animal lived will be required.
It should be borne in mind that animals not belonging to the first generation of a domesticated species are not included in the CITES list. To import them, you will only need an international veterinary certificate. It is necessary to check the availability of documents from the animal.
Important points regarding care
In most cases, an animal brought from abroad is kept only in an aviary. After all, he hasn't been tamed yet. Moreover, he may never become compliant and tame. Another very significant headache associated with keeping an exotic animal: it is necessary to find a veterinarian who understands this or that type of exotic, as well as its possible diseases, vaccinations, etc. It's not that easy, such specialists can be counted on the fingers.
Therefore, before deciding on such an extravagant purchase, it is necessary to carefully weigh everything, including on the subject of fleeting desire. Still, the costs are serious, and it simply won't be possible to fully justify them. Rather, on the contrary.
