My Experience At TOPG

Hi everyone I am Rohil Zalke from Nagpur, a chemical engineer by profession and currently preparing for my further education.

Recently I joined the TISA Online Practise Group (TOPG) which ended on 17th March, 21 and as always I was not sure to register for it because I enquired about it with many people and all of them said that it has few challenging tasks and I felt sudden anxiety inside me.

Still, I registered for it and in no time I felt a slight fear inside me and slight doubt about myself. Finally, the day came, the first session of TOPG, we meet Suraj sir, Naresh sir and the founder of TISA Dr Satyendra Srivastava. We were told that we need to do 19 core tasks in 2 weeks.

But before it, they taught us all the techniques like bouncing, prolongation, pausing, and block correction. I had learned this technique in many SHG meetings, but during the TOPG, we were taught a different approach.

The faculty always encouraged us all to use the techniques (specially Naresh sir……LOL) and also the presence of Dr. Sachin during the meet created an encouraging vibe.

For me, core task 4 was very challenging, in this core task we were told to conduct a stammering interview with strangers. At first, many people rejected me for conducting their interview but the encouraging words of faculty members kept my esteem high. Finally, a 50-60-year-old man accepted by request to conduct his stammering interview, and from that moment it was like a piece of cake for me. I reached many such strangers for interviews and even though I stammered, I was calm and I always knew what I have to say.

And I will never forget the encouraging speech of Dr. Sachin on comfort zone and self-concept.

Before TOPG, I would apply techniques only at SHG meetings because the host requested for it, and when I started hosting SHG meetings I would apply it only for the sake of being a host. But after the meetings, I was back to the ignorant speech of mine and did not apply any technique. But this all changed during TOPG, the faculty members made us practice so many techniques that few techniques got stuck in my subconscious mind, especially the prolongation technique. Now, whenever I send any voice message on social media I observe that I had used the pausing technique. And TOPG has also taught me –

  1.  Discipline: To complete the given task before time, to regularly attend the TOPG meet on the given time
  2.  Reminding the usage of techniques to ourselves.
  3. I learned about my secondary behaviors and the usage of continuing words subconsciously.
  4.  Now I openly accept my stammering, ready to talk about it with strangers.

Last but not the least, now we all the members have abounding among us and I have made some really good friends.

Finally, I would like to end the blog with one of my favorite poem –

” जो ठोकर न खाए नहीं जीत उसकी,  जो ठोकर न खाए नहीं जीत उसकी
               जो गिरके संभल जाए है जीत उसकी “

Yes, Nirmal Ji, TOPG is of great help. If we do all the core tasks of TOPG properly and sincerely then we see a path of deep acceptance of our stammering.
