My Journey from a PWS to an IIM Student

Never in my life, I ever realized that I would make it to an IIM with my stuttering. Hi everyone, I am Sunoy Garai, one of you all who stutters but never gives up. The journey wasn’t easy as I made it look. There were so many ups and downs, with the results taking me to cloud nine. None of this would have been possible without The Indian Stammering Association and its mentors. They have supported me through the journey and always have encouraged me to achieve new heights.

I have been a part of TISA for the past seven years. I came to know about the group in 2014 when I searched it on the internet, and I found out that they conduct Self Help Groups meetings to improve communication skills among the members. Slowly and steadily, I started understanding the gist of the group and their vision to open up to people. I became one of the regular members and started hosting and organizing meetings where at least 15 to 20 people used to turn up every Sunday. I also attended communication workshops where people get together, do activities, and just have fun. I had to move to Mumbai due to my job, but I never lost touch with the mentors. Fast forward to today, I am a student of an IIM. This is the one thing that I will take with me to my grave, and I hope that day never comes.

    Keep Growing 👍💐
